Greek Tax authorities are running a campaign to reduce tax evasion amongst tourist related businesses, this was triggered by a survey that found that over 30% of surveyed business were evading tax.

AAΔΕ the authority concerned are also asking visitors to pay by cards, presumably because these transactions are more easily traced. This could make for interesting conversations especially on some islands where cards machines are often “broken” or or they genuinely not working? Signs offering free WiFi may offer a clue!
